Last Friday night’s monthly 10k guaranteed must be the biggest the club has seen in a very long time. I can personally attest to the fact that no matter how blazing shitfaced you were, you had to be impressed with the sea of players that turned up to battle it out. There was 113 entries and a prizepool of €14,690, and in the end it was Patrice Goberville that took down the €4000 1st prize and just to give a sliver of hope to all of us desperatey bad players Cyril managed to take down 2nd prize of €2,200.
Usually, we would have to wait a month for action this big again, but this month we barely get a chance to catch our breath before we are right back into it, as this week see’s the Eglinton hosting the Irish Poker Tour latest stop, the May Festival. This event has over €60,000 in guaranteed prize money and runs from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th and has 4 holdem and 2 PLO tournaments over the weekend.
This will mean huge cash action throughout the course of the festival, which, due to the club new daily opening time of 2pm, I am guessing will lead to cash games, blackjack and roulette running 24/7 for the first time ever outside of Race Week. Definitely not a weekend to be missed.
