For those that can remember 2007, it was a year of firsts. The iPhone was announced (much to the happiness of POC), “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” premieres in the US, England banned smoking in all public indoor places and the Venetian Macao opened. Back on home soil, the Eglinton opened its doors for the first time during Raceweek in Galway. From humble beginnings in the Westwood hotel one day a week and in pubs across Ireland, seeds were sown as Eglinton Street became the place to be for poker in Galway!
We are delighted to be open on this, our 15th year and we have our wonderful regulars to thank for it. Some of you have been with us from the start and others we have met along the way. As Raceweek is just around the corner, we are delighted to let you know that we will be open 24/7 for the week starting 6pm Monday. We offer blackjack and roulette around the clock and will be running cash games and nightly tournaments. From Monday to Saturday there is a €100 + 20 HLHE starting at 7pm each night. On Tuesday we are also running a €225 + 25 PLO starting at 6pm. All tournaments have a €5,000 guarantee with the winners from each of the 7 tournaments returning on Sunday to battle it out for a share of the €3,000 added by the club.
We are looking forward to seeing faces, old and new as Raceweek returns to Galway after a short hiatus.
